Our Events Policy

The primary mission of the Institute for Urban Policy Research is to help communities realize positive change by facilitating their access and use of research and data tools. We accomplish this through original research, technical assistance, and outreach and communications. While we welcome the opportunity to partner with other organizations to bring important topics to the conversational table in North Texas, we must always ensure that we present accurate, timely, and relevant information. While the information we gather is made available freely to anyone, we do not participate in political forums, nor do we endorse candidates for political office. In this way, we ensure that our research remains relevant to informing all positions on the issues most pressing in the communities we serve.

The IUPR Event Series

The Institute for Urban Policy Research, formerly The J. McDonald Williams Institute, hosts many events throughout the year. Annually, the Institute hosts a conference that brings together scholars, practitioners, and public policy actors to discuss pressing social issues in North Texas and beyond. The focus is to unite these policy makers with local and national community organizations in order to work in a conjoined effort to address these issues.

The Institute also hosts a number of other events throughout the year as part of our Institute Dialogue Series. These events are designed to bring people together around the pressing issues facing our diverse communities, through research, documentary films, book readings, and informational workshops. We hope to reach as many people as possible with the information so vital to community change.
