Paving the Path to the Dream: Using the Census to Advocate for Change

The census affects everything from the number of seats a state has in the U.S. House of Representatives to federal funding for many projects and programs.

This forum will introduce what the census is, what it is used for and how it impacts our lives. We will explore the effect of the 2010 Census on the social, economic, financial and political future of North Texas. Panelist will discuss how changes in demographic trends impact political power, the power of data to inform advocacy, and how students can engage.
